Table Centerpiece

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

In the family I got raised in, we didn’t truly pay special attention on presentation.

For a vacation like Thanksgiving, for instance, we might go pretty all out with the food. I will not say why precisely, except for some reason or other, it didn’t appear crucial to us.

That’s why I was so shocked and impressed the first time I went over to my girlfriend’s family for the vacations. It was actually the perfect expression of the joy the autumn season brings. The table was embellished with gourds, stocks of maize, and woven straw scarecrows holding small Hershey’s kisses in their hands. What truly amazed me about that meal was how much having a festive dcor truly added to everything. It really made it a better day for every one of us.

The room was bright and happy, with small gourds scattered around to designate nature’s bounty, and because of that, we were bright and contented too. The following year, I decided that I might make my private home-made Thanksgiving centerpiece. Often , Thanksgiving centerpieces are merely a matter of assembling some different elements. You do not actually have to make anything at all – all you have got to do is to order a couple of things.

Inside that, I put a spray of flowers mixed in with some stalks of corn. It wasn’t quite as polished as the Thanksgiving centerpiece at my squeeze’s home the year before, but it looked pretty good.

Since that point, I attempted to have table center pieces at all of my vacation events. I am going to make a Thanksgiving center piece this year, but I believe I am going to go a step further. I will barely wait to assemble a pleasant Christmas center piece for the 1st time.
